Don’t make judgments about the missing pet’s owner.
It’s easy to think that a pet has gone missing because the owners are not responsible or just don’t care enough to take proper precautions. However, this is rarely the case and leads to a dangerous way of thinking!
Countless circumstances can lead to a missing pet and very few have anything to do with an irresponsible owner, not entirely, however.
We’re here to offer an online resource to assist in the search and recovery of lost and found pets in the Vallejo, CA area.

ABOVE AND BEYOND ALL, never chase after a pet that is running. There is plenty that we all can learn by studying lost pet behaviors, keep yourself and the pet safe and NEVER chase.
Sometimes the best route to saving a pet is alerting the public that they were spotted. It’s much safer for all involved.
More about us
Losing a pet is devastating for everyone involved, the family that learns their pet is missing and the person who finds a missing pet. It's stressful not knowing where to start, what to do or who to contact, that’s precisely the reason we started Vallejo's Lost Dogs in 2014. We’re here to help.
From our friends at Mission Reunite they offer some words to live by "Think lost, not stray" Too often, people assume that a pet has been abandoned or is unwanted, when in reality most have an owner who is missing them and out searching for them.
If you’ve recently lost your pet: Don’t waste any time. Immediately begin searching the moment you notice they're missing. DO NOT delay or assume “They’ll find their way home.”
Your pet could be in another person’s home.
Stuck in a yard, garage, or shed or,
At one of the local shelters.
In the state of California, a pet without identification is only required to be held in a California shelter for just 72 hours!
Vallejo’s Lost Dogs (and other pets too…)
When word got out that we quickly found Marlowe's family, people started asking us to help them find owners for the pets they found. Others came to us looking for their lost pets, and that's how Vallejo's Lost Dogs began.
We now collaborate with several organizations, and the Humane Society of the North Bay recommends using our page as a resource. Our page has become a valuable resource in our community for posting lost, found, or spotted animals in and around Vallejo, CA.
Since the 4th of July weekend in 2014, we have reunited over 3000 pets (dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, goats). We have become the go-to place for information, and even had a famous pet featured on our page!
If you hear that your pet is lost, if you find a pet (like we did), or if you happen to see a loose pet, the Vallejo's Lost Dogs Facebook page is the quickest way to spread that information. Although our name says Lost Dogs, we post about all types of pets. If your pet is important to you, it's important to us too!
Come be a part of the community that works together to get as many pets as possible back home with their families!

“So appreciative for what your doing. Today I got my dog back because of the post that was seen on your page. The support I got from people I didn't even know was amazing and just shows me how great people still are and how close we can be in our community. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart..”

“Word travels fast in this community — Even faster than a chipped animal going thru its process to become flag’d as “missing”, it seems...
If only Amber Alert were this good... we would have less broken homes for sure!
We were reunited with our missing mutt only two days after I’ve alerted the fine folks in here and they will try their darnedest to get your pet back to you.
Thanks everyone! I will keep my eyes peeled for your missing animals too, in return.
